I built this site by talking to Claude
No agency, no WordPress expert. Just a voice conversation with Claude and the new Framer connector, with feedback as I went.

You’re looking at the result. I designed Dave’s Notes almost entirely by talking out loud to Claude, using the new Framer connector, and getting feedback as I went.
Why talk instead of type
Saying things out loud helps me think. Brainstorming with Claude by voice feels more like a working session with a designer than writing prompts into a box. I could react to ideas in real time, change my mind, and keep moving.
What changed with the Framer connector
Before the Framer connector showed up, getting Claude to work on a Framer site meant setting up Claude Code and wiring things together yourself. Doable, but not something most people would bother with. Now it’s built in. That makes building a real website accessible to the average person, without hiring an agency or a WordPress expert.
Why a real CMS matters
I’ve built plenty of static sites on exe.dev, and it’s great for getting something up fast. The problem was always content. I never found a content management system I liked, so every update meant touching code. Framer has one built in. The notes, projects, and tools on this site all live in the CMS, so adding a new one is just filling in a form.
How it went
Honestly, pretty smoothly so far. We went from a brainstorm, to a mockup, to a working site with a CMS, detail pages, and layouts for desktop, tablet, and phone. I even drafted the notes on this site the same way, by answering questions out loud.
Use the Claude plan you already pay for
Framer has its own built-in AI chat, but it runs on Framer’s AI tokens, which can get expensive. If you already have a Claude subscription, you might as well use it to edit your Framer site through the connector instead of burning through Framer’s tokens. I did lean on Framer’s AI once, for a fiddly CMS image binding, and it handled it well. But for the bulk of the work, Claude was the better deal.
Verdict: worth it for most entrepreneurs
If you’re an entrepreneur with a little time to get set up, this can save you a lot of money on web design. You still need taste and a clear idea of what you want to say. But the build itself is no longer the hard part.
Next up: I’m turning this process into a web designer skill anyone can install in Claude. A friend is testing it now, and I’ll write up how it goes.
